The Three Reasons We Created Seren Passwords for AI agents before humans

Speed with Audits: Agents need fast authentication velocity
Your password manager requires multiple vaults key types and accessibility. It needs, or your administrator, to provision permissions and access. In a world in which tokens per sec (toks/sec) now matters, you LLM ain't got time for that! Password managers are optimized to slow down humans that need to read UI's and understand how they are giving themselves or other team members authentication permissions. This authentication human interaction in the UI slows down agents. Agents need pure CLI and MCP capabilities that are locked into their identities so they are not constrained by the need for human permission gating. In the pursuit of agentic speed, Agents need programmatic CLI and MCP workflows that preserve governance: Explicit, scoped, revocable grants and approval controls where the vault policy requires them. Of course, we didn't optimize for speed without awareness. Seren Passwords logs changes and secret reads that pass through the service. Human owners can see which agent acted, what it touched, and when. Secret values never appear in the log. Once a secret reaches an agent, Seren cannot see what the agent does with that secret value.
Incentives: It shouldn't matter which compute vendor provides incentives
Today, we're working with clients that are deploying agent cointainers across multiple cloud providers providing multiple incentives to attract agentic compute. Our clients want to take advantage of these incentives and that their agents must be capable of moving across containers and infrastructure without blockers and loss of secret access. Why? Well, it's all that free and juicy infra incentives that they are asking their agents to use. Compute providers all want your agent compute and container hosting business. Thus, our agents need to be able to move where the incentives are and bring their identity and their access to secrets, with them. How do they do that with Seren Passwords? Seren CLI deployed into any container and any compute allows Seren-password agents to access their secrets from anywhere and in any compute infrastructure. Your data stays yours. Seren Passwords is end-to-end encrypted, so secrets are decrypted only where your agents use them. Secrets are not decrypted by the password service and your encrypted vault data remains in your organization’s own SerenDB database.
